Help & FAQ

How Flytrix works

A short guide to the core features. We'll keep expanding this as the app evolves.

Getting started

Flytrix is a personal flight tracker. After signing up, you log flights one by one (or import a batch from CSV), and the dashboard turns your history into stats, maps, achievements, and shareable posters.

Your data is private by default, nothing leaves your account unless you explicitly turn on a public profile or share a poster.

Adding flights manually

From the dashboard, tap + Add flight. You can either look up a flight number on the date you flew (we'll pre-fill aircraft, schedule, and airports) or fill the form manually if the lookup doesn't find your flight.

Cabin class, payment method, points, and seat are all optional, but they unlock richer drill-down analytics if you fill them in.

CSV import

If you've been tracking flights elsewhere (a spreadsheet, App in the Air, FlightDiary, OpenFlights export, etc.), you can bulk-import via Settings → Data → Export data for the template format, then import in Flights → Import.

We try to auto-detect airports by IATA code and fill in coordinates, distances, and country data from our airports table.

Flight data and aircraft lookup

When you look up a flight by number + date, we query AeroDataBox to get the scheduled departure / arrival, route, aircraft type, and registration. The result is cached so repeat lookups are fast and free.

Aircraft data (model, age, engine type) is enriched separately and used to power the aircraft drill-down.

Trips, bookings, and spend

Group related flights into trips (a holiday, a work trip) to see per-trip distance, countries, and cost. Add a booking to tie flights to a single reservation and split its cost across legs.

Cost, points, and loyalty fields are all optional and only used for your own private analytics, spend by airline, points value, cabin breakdowns, and more. They are never shown on your public profile or in shared posters.

Share Studio

From the dashboard map card, tap Share to open Share Studio. You can pick a theme, time period (all-time or a specific year), map centre, route style, and poster format (square, story, or wide), then share the generated image via your device's native share sheet or download it as a PNG.

The poster only includes safe data, countries, route arcs, flight counts - never prices, points, payment method, or future itineraries.

Public profiles and privacy

Your public profile lives at /u/your-username. It is private by default, visitors get a 404 until you enable it in Settings → Profile → Public profile.

When public, visitors only see a polished travel passport (route map, total stats, country flags). They never see ticket prices, points used or earned, payment methods, booking platforms, aircraft tail numbers, personal notes, or future flights, these are stripped on the server before the page renders.

You can change your handle, toggle the profile private, or pick a friendly username at any time. Reserved names (admin, support, billing, etc.) and offensive handles are blocked.

Pro, billing, and cancellation

Flytrix has a free plan and a paid Pro plan, available as monthly, yearly, or a one-time lifetime purchase. You can upgrade from Settings → Account. Billing is handled securely by Stripe - we never store your full card number.

Recurring monthly/yearly plans renew until you cancel. To cancel or change your plan, open Settings → Account → Manage billing (the Stripe portal). Your Pro access continues until the end of the period you've paid for.

Cancelling Pro does not delete your saved flights, trips, bookings, or travel history. After your paid period ends, your account may return to Free limits and some Pro features may be locked. If you reactivate Pro later, your saved data should still be available unless you separately delete your account.

For billing help or a refund request, email hello@flytrix.app. Refunds are reviewed case-by-case, subject to applicable law.

Account, data export, and deletion

Inside Settings → Data you can export all your flights as a CSV, delete all flight data while keeping your account, or close your account entirely. Deletion actions require typing DELETE to confirm, so export first if you want a copy.

Closing your account removes your access and deletes your app data. We may de-identify data where practical and retain limited records where required for legal, tax, billing, fraud-prevention, or compliance reasons (for example, billing records held by Stripe). See our Privacy Policy for details.
